Our physicians are trained and certified in the treatment of hemorrhoids including, but not limited to, Infra-Red Coagulation (IRC), the treatment of choice for patients who prefer the convenient, effective & outpatient, office-based management of their hemorrhoids.
IRC is virtually painless and problem free compared to surgical hemorrhoid treatment such as hemorrhoidectomy which is performed under general anesthesia, can be very painful and requires time off.
The IRC procedure is performed in a doctor’s office by a trained and certified physician, there is no down time; the process takes about five minutes; it is painless; and generally does not result in any side effects or complications.
Depending upon the severity of the hemorrhoids and response to treatment, one to six treatments may be required, generally one to two weeks apart.
In addition to IRC, some physicians affiliated with The Hemorrhoid Centers, particularly colorectal surgeons, offer Rubberband Ligation, a well-established mode of hemorrhoid treatment that is highly effective when combined with IRC, particularly for acute cases.
Hemorrhoid treatments, including IRC and rubber band ligation, are covered by most insurance plans. If not covered, patients can finance their procedure through a third party patient financing plan including zero interest plans.
